Big setback for Meghan: canceled by her devised Netflix series | royals

The Netflix show would be about a twelve-year-old girl who experiences adventures and is inspired by various influential women from history.

entertainment">The idea is said to have been conceived entirely by Meghan. “Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on her way to discover herself as she overcomes the challenges of everyday life,” the Duchess wrote in a statement at the time.

entertainment">The animated series was part of the multi-year agreement that Meghan and her husband Prince Harry concluded with Netflix in 2020 – for which they make even more series, documentaries and children’s programs. The Sussexes would, among other things, make a series about Harry’s work at the Invictus Games, for which he was still in the Netherlands last month.

entertainment">The streaming service lost about $55 billion of its market value in one day two weeks ago. Investors took the share of the sell-off after Netflix announced it had lost net subscribers for the first time since 2011.
