Fire Inferno in Los Angeles!
A fire in a commercial building triggered an explosion and the flames spread to neighboring buildings. At least eleven firefighters were injured!
According to fire chief Erik Scott, they suffered burns. Three were taken to hospital in critical condition, the “Los Angeles Times“. But everyone is expected to survive.
Some firefighters were in the building when the “significant explosion, very high, very wide, shook the entire area,” Scott said.
The disaster occurred on Saturday evening in the Little Tokyo district, where a particularly large number of Japanese-born residents live. The source of the fire was in a one-story building that housed a shop for smokers that sold e-cigarettes, among other things. According to the fire chief, the cause of the fire is still unclear.
The fire brigade was on site with more than 200 people. High flames and a cloud of smoke could be seen over the area. The fire in the US metropolis was extinguished after two hours.
