Rating Joe Biden since the beginning of the US presidency in July has decreased from 56% to 50%. Prior to that, its support level did not show significant fluctuations. And the current rate is the lowest at present.

This is stated in data A July 6-21 poll by the Gellup American Institute for Public Opinion Research.

45% of the US adult population disapproves of Biden’s actions. This happened at a time when progress with the fight against the pandemic stalled, sociologists explain.

Biden’s rating is marked by extreme party polarization, which has become the norm in the United States in recent years. Today, 90% of Democrats, 12% of Republicans and 48% of those who do not support any of the parties approve of Biden’s actions.

At the same time, Biden’s rating is higher than the rating of previous US presidents over the specified period – Bill Clinton (44.0%) and Donald Trump (38.8%). The only US leader with a favorable percentage of trust was Barack Obama (62.0%).

The decline in Biden’s average rating by about 3% between the first and second quarters is typical for presidents of modern US history, sociologists add.

At the same time, experts predict that the indicators of the president’s confidence in the future will most likely fall during the third quarter of the presidential term. For example, this happened with Obama in due time – people were dissatisfied with the unemployment situation and the ambiguous implementation of reforms in the health care sector.

Sociologists note that, given the downward trend in confidence, Biden has completed his “honeymoon” as head of state. Any further changes will depend, in particular, on the approval of his actions by democrats and not supporting any of the parties. This is exactly what has happened now, when both groups are less positive about Biden.
