In the penultimate mass start of the season, Franziska Preuss secured her first podium in an individual race this season. In Nove Mesto, Preuss finished third after 12.5 kilometers and four shooting runs. The victory went to the Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff ahead of the Swedish Hanna Öberg.

Preuss started the race with a mistake in the first prone stage, but then got on better and better with the shooting range in Nove Mesto. She made no mistakes in the following three shooting units and defended her lead on the final round.
