A feature film written and directed by the singer for Disney +! Beyoncé unveiled the trailer for this Sunday Black is King on his website and on Twitter. The film will be available on the streaming platform on July 31.
Inspired by songs from the album The Lion King : The Gift, a disc released in 2019 and a film The Lion King in which Beyoncé lent her voice to the character of Nala, Black is King is a tribute to black culture.

“This film is a story through the centuries to educate and reconstruct our present (…) a story about how people set aside and broken represent an extraordinary gift and a proposal for the future,” said Disney in a press release. quoted by the American site JustJared.
