Bethesda hits back: “Starfield” is not at all “boring”

For some reason, the developer has started writing comments on user reviews of the game.

In September, Bethesda’s big space role-playing game “Starfield” was released. The game’s reception was perhaps not quite what the developer had hoped for, and in the following months, players have dissed “Starfield” quite harshly in various ways, comparing it negatively to other games such as “Baldur’s Gate 3”.

Now Bethesda seems tired of this and instead has started defending his game in comments to certain user reviews on the gaming platform Steam. Something that is extremely unusual for a developer of Bethesda’s size. The whole thing was first noticed by the user Juicehead on X, formerly Twitter.

The comments then come from the users Bethesda_FalcoYamaoka and Bethesda_Kraken which Steam has verified are real developer accounts.

A user review then describes “Starfield” as “big as an ocean, deep as a pool” to which Bethesda responds:

“…if you feel like it’s getting boring, there’s a lot more you can do than just the main quest!

Another user review complains that there are too many loading screens in the game. Bethesda then commented:

“…even though there are loading screens when fast traveling, think about how much data is needed for all the gameplay that is procedurally generated and loads without a problem.”

It is currently unknown why Bethesda has started commenting on “Starfield’s” user reviews.
