Latvian national team basketball players Jānis Bērziņš a Rolands Freimanis on Saturday scored a total of 23 points in the Polish championship game, forging the victory of Zelona Gura’s “Stelmet Enea”.
Zelona Gura’s team won Stargarada’s “Spoijnia” at home with 98:89 (23:22, 24:33, 24:17, 27:17).
Freimanis spent 22 minutes and eight seconds on the court, during which he stood out with 18 points and five balls under the baskets. The basketball player sent four of the seven two-point and two of the seven three-point throws in the basket, as well as realized all four “penalties”.
He also has one assists, one intercepted ball, two blocked shots, three errors and two personal notes. Freimanis ended the game with a +/- score of 6.
Meanwhile, his teammate Bērziņš scored five points in 25 minutes and 47 seconds on the court, won seven balls under the baskets and scored twice. The basketball player threw one of the three two-point and one of the three three-point shots, as well as intercepted the ball once, but ended the game with a negative +/- score of -3.
Jeffrey Grossel stood out with 29 points and 15 rebounds, but Raymond Kauvels scored 21 points on the opposite side.
With 14 victories in 15 games, Zelona Gura’s team takes the first place in the Polish Championship, while Lublin’s “Start” represented by Mārtiņš Laksas has gained ten successes and is in the fourth position.
16 clubs will start in the Polish championship this year.
