Kiki Bertens reached the eighth finals of the WTA tournament in Doha on Monday without many problems. The Dutchman, who had a bye in the first round, settled on the Qatari hardcourt with the Czech Karolína Muchová.
28-year-old Bertens needed an hour and 24 minutes to decide the game in her favor: 6-2 and 6-4. She eliminated no less than six breakpoints against Muchová (WTA-27) and struck three times to the service of the 23-year-old Czech.
The first four games of the game all went to Bertens, after which she did not run into problems in the remainder of the first set. In the second company, the Westlandse, who won many points on her first service, needed a break at 2-2 to distance himself from Muchová and secure the victory.
Bertens took action for the first time on Monday since she won the St. Petersburg WTA tournament eight days ago. The world’s number six then decided to skip the tournament in Dubai to prevent overloading. She is now unbeaten for five consecutive games on the WTA Tour.

In Doha, six players from the top ten of the WTA ranking are participating, including world ranking leader Ashleigh Barty. After the tournament in Doha, Bertens, who is placed in seventh place, focuses on Indian Wells, which starts on 9 March.
