On Tuesday afternoon, the Bern cantonal police were reported that a man (51) armed with an ax smashed several car windows on Sulgeneckstrasse, the police said. Emergency services were already present, but they had to call for reinforcements immediately.

In the area of ​​Kappellenstrasse/Monbijoustrasse, the man threatened the police with an ax and a knife. A police officer, gun drawn, asked him to drop the hatchet and knife, it said. When the man failed to comply with this request, the emergency services fired a rubber bullet at him. He was eventually arrested using a taser.
