On Ascension Day, the high “Ulla” largely replaced the bad weather lows “Benedikt” in the north and “Chappu” in the south. Berlin and Brandenburg finally enjoyed plenty of sun again, although the temperatures were still moderately warm at 14 to 17 degrees.

Because only a few weeks pass over us at night, the little bit of warmth fizzles out, the lows in the region rush down to the frost line again: The German Weather Service (DWD) is expecting ground frost again locally!

Ground Frost Shock! But then the heat wave rolled to Berlin and Brandenburg

But the frost spook is over for the time being, now the signs are pointing to heat to the max! Heat-sensitive people still have a breather, because on Friday the air will only gradually warm up to a maximum of 17 to 20 degrees. There are clouds mainly in the south of Brandenburg, at night also in the east. It remains noticeably milder at 6 to 10 degrees.

On Saturday the temperatures will be even higher: The day starts out bright in Berlin and further west, otherwise there are still a lot of clouds in the sky. A maximum of 22 degrees is now possible, and the night remains very mild with 10 to 14 degrees.

It’s getting so hot in Berlin: But on Sunday there is a risk of heavy showers and thunderstorms

On Sunday, sun high “Ulla” will turn up the heat: The forecast for the region is now up to 28 degrees. But in the afternoon, the low “Benedikt” digs in from the north-east, with some heavy showers and thunderstorms falling locally! However, these subside in the evening, the night stays dry and mild with a minimum of 10 to 13 degrees.

In the coming week, the temperature regulator will be turned up again, and the heat will continue until Tuesday. However, several weather models are now also forecasting heavy rainfall for Tuesday. This will probably result in the maximum values in the middle of the week dropping significantly to much more pleasant values of around 22 degrees.

However, there are already indications that the next heat wave will follow by the end of the month – but the forecasts are still at odds. Ironically, the European weather service is alarming with the forecast that a temperature shock of just 16 degrees will start in Berlin in the middle of the week. We’ll know more in the coming days!
