Blåvitt ended Allsvenskan’s season with a 4-1 win at IFK Värnamo.
One of the scorers was Marcus Berg. However, the star was in focus for another reason.
Held controversial flag
After the game, as the team celebrated the victory in front of the fans, the striker stood with the ACAB flag, the controversial acronym for “all cops are bastards”.
The 36-year-old believes everything is a mistake.
– A supporter ran forward in the celebration and gave it to me. I didn’t know what the message was. I did it in good faith, he tells Sportbladet.
“Takes a strong distance”
Club Director Håkan Mild:
– The image is not good. We distance ourselves strongly from that message. Marcus Berg and our players like to pay tribute to our fans who have supported us throughout the season, but certainly not like that, he tells the newspaper.
– None of the players are behind this. Sometimes it goes wrong.
