Bente Åse Søfteland (66) found dead in cabin

It was Bente Åse Søfteland (66) from Oppegård who was found dead after a possible gas leak at a cabin in Tinn municipality on Monday. Relatives have been notified of the death and that the name of the deceased has been released.

The South-Eastern Police District reports this in a press release.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, but do not suspect that there is anything criminal behind the incident, the police say.

The woman’s spouse, who was also in the cabin, was sent to Oslo University Hospital and is receiving medical treatment.

Operations manager Roger Aaser told Dagbladet on Monday that it was a witness who reported the incident.

– When we arrived at the scene, two lifeless people were found inside the cabin. The woman was confirmed dead, while the man has been transported to Ullevål.
