Benelli presented itself at the Beijing Motor Show with interesting news in last Saturday’s press conference. Of the thirteen models on display, most of them already on sale in Italy, there were three previews.
The first is there 1200GT, the three-cylinder GT that it already was was unveiled at Chongqing Motor Expo of September 2020 and of which the price in China was communicated: 99,800 yuan, equal to 12.800 euro.
The 1200GT is powered by a three-cylinder in-line engine only partially derived from the well-known 1,130 cc on sale by us until 2016 and of which it also maintains the transmission chain ending.
Dedicated to the Chinese market is also the new one TnT 899, aesthetic rather than technical evolution of the bike sold in Italy up to five years ago, the one with the 898 cc three-cylinder 120 cavalli of power at 9,500 rpm: value confirmed on the model just shown in Beijing with modified style.
The 600GC it is a fully faired touring car with a large electrically adjustable windscreen and triple headlight. It can be equipped with the trio of rigid bags and top cases and as a technical backbone it is an evolution of BN600GT, the semi-faired sport touring in the Benelli list until 2018 (the four-cylinder in-line delivered 82 horsepower and the price was 7,390 euros).
The Benelli 600GC goes on sale in China to 59,800 yuan, that is 7.700 euro circa.
There was no talk in Beijing of export in Europe for these three bikes. However, it is possible that the 1200GT may arrive, while the homologation remains to be verified for two others Euro5 since these are older engines.
We’ll see.
