The city of São José dos Campos hosted on Saturday (16) the sixth edition of the Bem Me Quero program, a program aimed at promoting women’s health, which includes, among other things, gynecological examinations that allow early detection of diseases and prevention of colon diseases and uterine cancer. Community services were also provided, such as vaccine administration and rapid testing.

Ten Resolve UBS stations in all parts of the city were open to residents from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Parque Industrial, Vila Tesouro, Novo Horizonte, Santana, Alto da Ponte, Putim, Jardim das Indústrias, São Francisco Xavier, Eugênio de Melo and Jardim Paulista. The aim is to make the units easier to access for women who are unable to go there during the week due to work or everyday tasks.

“It’s a great opportunity for those who work and don’t have time during the week,” said Leticia Nogueira, 23, a pet sitter. She used the day off to catch up on her vaccinations and take precautions.

Preventive examinations are essential for women’s health as they enable early detection of diseases and conditions that can affect the quality of life. Through regular checkups such as pap smears and mammograms, it is possible to detect cervical cancer and breast cancer early, which significantly increases the chances of successful treatment.
