After Monday’s emergency shutdown of 10 power units in the Bełchatów Power Plant, eight units have already been put into operation on Tuesday. Intensive preparations are underway for the launch of further units – it was announced in the announcement published on the PGE GiEK website.

Launching generation units after such a sudden shutdown is a huge technological challenge” – it was noted.

The energy concern previously assessed that the situation in the power plant is now stabilizing. “Launching generation units after such a sudden shutdown is a huge technological challenge for industry specialists employed in the power plant” – it was explained.

Accident
On Monday afternoon, as a result of the activation of electrical protections at the switching station in Rogowiec, belonging to Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne, at the Bełchatów Power Plant, there was an emergency shutdown of 10 power units with a total capacity of approximately 3,900 MW.

The failure at the distribution station in Rogowiec near Bełchatów was removed on Monday. Its causes are not known yet. A team of engineers and specialists is constantly working at the power plant to restore all emergency shutdown power units.
