It is 4:30 p.m. this Friday afternoon, Place des Halles in Chartres. The members of French Touch NZ arrive from Bayonne to give a concert, the same evening, as part of ChartrEstivales.
“They had already come last year, and it went so well that the same evening, I rescheduled them for this edition”, enthuses Lucien Roger, president of the association organizing this festival which offers free forty-seven concerts throughout the summer.
But before enjoying the show, a whole team is mobilizing to ensure that everything takes place in the best possible conditions.
The tribute to Patrick Bruel in front of a thousand spectators
From 2 p.m., every afternoon, three to five technicians arrive to set up the stage. There is a lot to do: set up the platforms on which the musicians will perform, adjust the sound, the lights… Everything must be perfect for the evening to go off without a hitch. This is where, among others, comes Alexis Grüber, entertainment worker working for the company XLS, from Gellainville, provider of ChartrEstivales for several years.
premium Lucien Roger, president of ChartrEstivales, is ready to launch the 30th edition on Friday: “People want to party”
“We are here for the editing, which takes between three and four hours. We also make sure that everything goes well during the concert. In the evening, we pack everything up. And we start again the next day…”, describes the sound technician.
This year, bad weather did not spoil the party, even if the heat wave changed work habits. “Some days we came to set up the equipment at 9 a.m., otherwise we suffered too much,” continues Alexis Grüber.

“We have a great welcome”
For Lucien Roger, the presence of experienced technicians is a real relief:
“We don’t need to worry about that. Our role is to take care of the programming, and, of course, to welcome the groups when they arrive. I haven’t heard anyone complain about our organization. Every evening, a dozen volunteers, out of the nineteen registered, attend the concert to make sure that everything is going well. »

30th edition of the Estivales de Chartres: discover the complete program for July and August
Constantly on the road, the Montpellier quartet performed in Chartres before leaving for the interceltic festival in Lorient, where it will play five days in a row. Another vibe…
This Saturday night’s concert is one of the biggest headliners of the summer. It’s about the Welshmen of Not The Rolling Stones, a tribute-band which will strive to reproduce to perfection the greatest hits of the Mick Jagger band. Meet at 9 p.m. at Place Châtelet.
