Harianjogja.com, BANTUL-Two gangs of students involved in a brawl that left one person dead and another injured in Bantul made a joint statement. Even the affidavit was stamped and signed by representatives of the two gangs.
The Bantul Police Chief, AKBP Ihsan revealed that the contents of the statement included the following: both parties are not allowed to report to the police, cannot do a post-mortem if injured, each gang must bear their own risk, each gang is also prohibited from involving alumni, then for gangs who does not come is considered a loser.
“This statement was found on the suspect’s cell phone. The contents are that both parties agree with the statement, there is a deal agreement, to determine the day [tawuran], the time has come to the location,” said Ihsan, Monday (11/8/2021).
Ihsan said he was concerned about the incident. Before the brawl took place, both parties challenged through social media. From the statements of the arrested suspects, the challenge started with the Sase gang. Then Stepiro’s gang accepted the challenge.

After agreeing to a brawl, “Representatives of both sides met. The two parties met at the residence of a member of the Sase gang. They discussed the brawl procedure and put it in a letter of agreement,” said Ihsan.
After it was agreed, a brawl broke out with 14 people from the Sase gang and 20 from the Stepiro gang. Both parties are equally equipped with sharp weapons. The brawl resulted in two victims, one of whom died.
According to the Police Chief, the agreement letter does not abolish the legal process because the case is a criminal act. He admitted that he was saddened by the incident, especially when it happened in the early hours of the morning when they were supposed to be at home.
Ihsan asked parents to always supervise their children. Likewise, schools are asked not to give up their hands in educating students. His party will comb schools in Bantul and record each student gang and then disband them. “We will go to schools to disband student gangs,” said Ihsan.
The fight with the agreement was also acknowledged by one of the IS suspects. IS is the executor and coordinator of the Stepiro gang. The agreement was deliberately made with the Sase gang. He admitted that he was initially challenged and coincidentally previously members of his group had been beaten by the Sase gang, “Because my friend was ganged up on,” said IS.
