SHAMEKOMPAS.com- Pratu R, an individual from the TNI BKO Task Force Battalion Arhanud 11/Wira Bhuana Yudha opened fire on his fellow TNI members and members of Brimob Battalion B Pioneer Police MalukuWednesday (16/3/2022) early morning.

As a result of the shooting, a Brimob member with the initials Bharaka FA died at the scene. Meanwhile, a member of the TNI Prada R is critical.

Had permission to return to the village to the commander

Prior to the shooting incident, Private R had a chance to talk to his commander in the post.

At that time, Pratu R asked for permission to return to his hometown in Jambi because his parents were sick.

After the conversation, the commander went into the room to rest.

However, it turned out that Pratu R then took the bayonet and dismantled the armory. He took an SS2P2 long-barreled firearm and ammunition.

Shoot commanders up to members of Brimob

Moments later, the assailant opened fire on his commander, but the shot missed.

Pratu R then shot his fellow TNI members who were about to leave the post. As a result, the victim was rushed to Masohi Hospital and is now in critical condition.

Pratu R then shot a Brimob member, Bharaka FA who happened to be passing in front of the post on a motorbike.

Bharaka FA also died at the scene.

Suspected major depression

Head of Information for Kodam XVI Pattimura Colonel Arh Adi Prayogi Choiraul Fajar revealed that Pratu R was suspected of experiencing severe mental stress.

Now he is detained and undergoing examination at the Sub Denpom Masohi, Central Maluku Regency.

“The perpetrator is currently in the Masohi Sub Denpom in the process of investigating his mental health examination because he is suspected of having acute depression, so he took actions that should not have been taken,” said Adi, Wednesday (16/3/2022).

The mental pressure is thought to have triggered the perpetrator to shoot his own friend and shoot a member of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) to death.

The perpetrator is hiding in a resident’s house

The head of the Maluku Police Mobile Brigade Unit, Kombes Pol Muhammad Guntur, explained that after shooting Bharaka FA, Pratu R fled and hid in a resident’s house.

“After the shooting incident, the perpetrator fled to the community (residents’ houses),” said Guntur.

He fled using a motorbike belonging to Bharaka FA to Elpaputih District, West Seram Regency.

“The perpetrator was picked up by the Sector Police Chief and his subordinates and then handed over to Denpom members,” he said.

Ask the men to restrain themselves

Shortly after learning that his subordinates had been shot and killed, Guntur went to Battalion B Headquarters in Central Maluku Regency.

“I’m here basically in an effort to calm the members,” he said.

He asked his subordinates to restrain themselves and not to take steps that could make things worse.

“Yes, of course, my appeal to Brimob members, especially members of the Maluku Police Mobile Brigade, is to exercise restraint. The point is we don’t want this incident to be prolonged,” he said.

“That this incident can happen to anyone and anywhere as it can happen to other colleagues such as TNI colleagues as well as the community, last night’s incident, members who passed by, if people passing by, might also become victims,” ​​he said.
