Cristiano Ronaldo selected to be the best player Italian League 2019/2020 initiated by the Italian Footballers Association (AIC). Ronaldo called it a strange season.
Ronaldo in two consecutive editions won the best player award at the Gran Gala del Calcio. The event is hosted by AIC, and is now in its 10th edition after replacing the previous show’s name Oscar del Calcio.
This award is given to the best coaches, referees, female players and male players. The winners are selected by a jury consisting of players, coaches, referees and journalists.
Ronaldo came out as the best male player for the 2019/2020 season. He has also received the same award for the 2018/2019 season.
Striker Juventus the Portuguese origin assessed the accolades he can endure in a strange season. The cause is the Corona virus pandemic and you have to play matches without spectators.
“It was a strange season, a season that nobody wants, but personally and the team, it is positive, because we won the competition (Serie A),” Ronaldo told Sky Sport Italia.
“At first, it was difficult to play in an empty stadium, but our aim was to win the championship and we succeeded. We did lose the Champions League, but that’s football,” he continued.
Ronaldo last season performed well with Juventus in the Italian League. He scored 31 goals in 33 appearances, losing five goals to Ciro Immobile who played for Lazio.
