It’s a hard blow because we had already lost 31 licensees during the 2020-2021 season after the first confinement.
But on the other hand, you are certainly expecting new members with the coronation of French volleyball players at the Olympic Games …
“Yes of course, we hope to have a rebound in the number of members with the OJ effect, especially on the men’s side. But, so far, as registrations have started, the effect has not been felt. And these new licensees, will we be able to welcome them? “
Why ?
“The crisis has hurt management. We normally shoot with around thirty active volunteers and three employees. We have lost salaried educators and we are having difficulty recruiting them. We absolutely need an educator with a state certificate and we can’t find one. Like many other clubs in France. There are very few volleyball specialists in our country. So as soon as a new coach arrives on the market, the clubs tear it up. But you have to have the financial means to attract it, which we don’t necessarily have. It is the law of supply and demand. We are in great difficulty in relation to this problem. “
