Kubica brings his partner Orlen: In 2019, the Poles were still advertising on the Williams rear wing.

Another name change at Sauber. The name of team founder Peter Sauber disappeared a year ago, and the Formula 1 racing team officially appeared as “Alfa Romeo Racing” in 2019.
–
Now the Hinwilers change the appearance again. In 2020, the racers with Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi in the cockpits will start as “Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen”. Orlen? The gas station giant from Poland is coming on board with a multi-year contract as a co-title sponsor.

This means that Robert Kubica’s (35) return of Sauber, announced by BLICK, is now fixed. The only GP winner of the Swiss team (Montreal 2008) will be a replacement and simulator pilot. Last year’s Williams driver is now bringing his long-time sponsor from home to Sauber and says: «I’m really looking forward to the new chapter in my career. This team has a special place in my heart. »
–
Kubica should continue to race: The Pole will probably get a DTM place at BMW. The Polish oil multi recently supported Kubica in its F1 comeback year at Williams, apparently with a total of around 10 million euros. This money will end up in Hinwil in the future.
–
However, the new team name does not change much for BLICK readers and the Sauber fans in Switzerland: the common vernacular name Alfa-Sauber will remain.
