A train stopped in Höllental on Monday afternoon due to a brake problem. This caused delays and cancellations between Freiburg and the Upper Black Forest.
A braking problem caused a standstill on the railway line in Höllental on Monday afternoon. A Breisgau S-Bahn stopped on the route between Hinterzarten and Himmelreich for around an hour before the train driver got the train going again so far that he could drive to Himmelreich, a railway spokeswoman confirms.
Second track in Himmelreich blocked longer
In Himmelreich the train stopped for a while. This had consequences for rail traffic between Freiburg and the Upper Black Forest: there were delays and cancellations. In some cases, trains towards Freiburg had to wait for an oncoming train at the old Hirschsprung station before they could continue. There are two tracks there. The second track in Himmelreich was blocked by the stranded train.
Due to an increased sick leave, trains on the Breisgau S-Bahn are currently being canceled again and again. “We have short-term sick leave and that’s why trains are canceled,” said the railway spokeswoman. A connection to Freiburg was also canceled on Tuesday morning due to a sick note.
