Now the calm around the storm should be over!
So far, the Bayern bosses have not been in a hurry for contract talks with star striker Robert Lewandowski (33/contract until 2023). His advisor Pini Zahavi (78) in Munich had long since made a willingness to talk.

Lewandowski is upset at the bosses’ hesitation.
Regarding an alleged Bayern interest in an extension, he said demonstratively on TV: “I’m hearing that for the first time!”
Soon he will hear about it in person…

BILD knows: CEO Oliver Kahn (52) definitely wants to extend Lewandowski and now discuss personal things with the world footballer.
It’s high time for that!
Record national player Lothar Matthäus (60) described the handling of the Pole as “disrespectful” in SPORT BILD. But there was a tough Bayern counterattack!
Kahn in the “tz”: “After his career as a player and coach, Lothar has never managed a club. He would be well advised not to talk about subjects for which he lacks any insight.”
There were good reasons for Bayern’s hesitation.
Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic (45) had actually dealt with the personality of Erling Haaland (21). This transfer would have radiance! But there are concerns.
► The 330 million euro package for Haaland with a transfer fee, salary and consultant fee would probably not be available from the Bayern supervisory board, which would have to approve such a mega transfer.
► The Norwegian’s high risk of injury is a risk. Haaland has been missing 29 games since moving to Dortmund in January 2020. Lewandowski has missed only 24 games since 2013, breaking one goal after another almost without injury.
At Bayern you also know: As soon as Man City reports the Haaland transfer perfectly, the negotiating position on Lewandowski will deteriorate. Without an alternative on the striker market, advisor Zahavi could turn the demands up.
The Bayern bosses are already trying to get used to the idea of having to increase the striker’s salary from an estimated EUR 24 million per year.
The package until 2025 should therefore be worth at least 85 million euros, including all the extraneous noise. In an international comparison, that would still be a good investment for a man with a 50-goal season guarantee…
