Call of Duty Warzone is a separate battle-royal game that can be played for free. Players do not need Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This is apparent from a game session that was put online by a YouTuber. The game also has crossplay between PC and consoles.
YouTuber Chaos put an eleven-minute video online with details about Warzone. The video was made during a play session with developer Infinity Ward. The video has since been deleted and probably should not have come online. Reddit users noticed the images and on YouTube is a copy of the video, uploaded by another channel.
The video shows that Warzone is a free-standing game that you can play for free. The previous battle-royal mode of the Call of Duty series, called Black Ops, can only be played by gamers who also own CoD: Black Ops 4. By making Warzone mode free, Activision is likely to attract more players to compete with other free-to-play games such as Fortnite and Apex Legends.
The video shows that the big game world consists of a combination of well-known playing fields from the CoD series, including Broadcast, Overgrown, Scrapyard and Terminal. Warzone pots can hold up to 150 players and in addition to a solo mode, there is the option of fighting in teams of two or three people. According to the YouTube user, players who have purchased CoD: Modern Warfare will receive special skins in the Warzone game. He also states that the game may receive support for 200 players, but that would not have been confirmed.
The game also seems to have methods for respawning. In Buy Stations on the playing field, team members can bring a team member to life by paying $ 4500 in in-game money.
