Dr Joan Ramon Villalbi from the Spanish Public Health and Sanitation Society said it was still too early to draw definitive conclusions.
“When the findings are only obtained from one sample, then you will always need more data, more research, more samples to ensure and avoid errors that occur in the laboratory or methodological problems,” he said.
There is a potential error because this virus has similarities with other types of respiratory disease.
“But this is very interesting, very triggering further research,” Villabi said.
Bosch, who is also president of the Spanish Virological Society, said the detection of the Corona Virus in January should have triggered the initial steps in handling the pandemic. However, what happens is that the patient may be misdiagnosed as the common cold, so that it helps make the disease spread before treatment is taken.
