He Barcelona will be able to register its players for the 2024 season after the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) would extend an endorsement that overcomes, for the moment, a controversy with the Ministry of Sports that demands several requirements to legalize its board..
It has been the Ministry of Sports itself that has reported that the FEF, after consulting Conmebol, has sent a proposal that “ensures the regulatory and sporting compliance of the Guayaquil club so that it can register the contracts of its athletes and confirm their participation in all tournaments” it’s from the season.
This solution has been achieved after a consultation carried out by the Ministry of Sports to the FEF and Conmebol, which sought to overcome the controversy over the registration of the board of directors of Barcelona, the most popular team in Ecuador.
«Given the sensitive institutional, sporting and judicial situation that Barcelona is going through, the Ministry of Sports sent a consultation to the FEF, with a copy to Conmebol, with the aim of find a legal solution that allows the club to participate in all local and international tournaments«said the State portfolio.
This problem arose in November of last year, when Barcelona appointed its new Board of Directors, headed by Antonio Álvarez, but when it had to be registered, the Ministry of Sports required that certain requirements be presented to comply with the legal formality.
President not elected in elections
Álvarez claims to be the new president of Barcelona despite the fact that elections were not called after the electoral court (controlled by those close to Álvarez) disqualified the opposing listalleging problems in registration.

The Ministry finally reported that approval has been given for the registration of the Barcelona squad, which this Saturday will present its cast at the so-called “Yellow Night” to be held at the “Atahualpa” stadium in Quito.
