Barcelona Confirms Miralem Pjanic Is Positive Covid-19 Page all

KOMPAS.com – Quite surprising news came from a giant club Spanish League, Barcelona. The club nicknamed the Blaugrana confirmed that Miralem Pjanic positive Covid-19.

Barcelona through the club’s official website on Sunday (23/8/2020) evening local time or Monday morning WIB announced that Miralem Pjanic tested positive for Covid-19.

The midfielder from Bosnia-Herzegovina tested positive for Covid-19 after undergoing a PCR test on Saturday (22/8/2020).

According to the club’s statement, Pjanic underwent a PCR test after feeling some discomfort.

After testing positive for Covid-19, Pjanic will not join the Barcelona squad in the near future.

“Miralem Pjanic tested positive in the PCR test he underwent on Saturday, August 22, after experiencing some discomfort,” said an official Barcelona statement.

“He is in good health and is isolated at home.”

“For this reason, he will not travel to Barcelona within the next 15 days to join Barca.”

Miralem Pjanic is one of Barcelona’s new recruits.

At the end of last June, the Blaugrana reached an agreement with Juventus regarding Pjanic’s transfer.

Barcelona had to spend 60 million euros or the equivalent of Rp. 1 trillion to bring Pjanic to Camp Nou.

Pjanic’s transfer to Barcelona also involved Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo.

Along with Pjanic’s transfer, Barcelona also agreed to release Arthur Melo to Juventus for a price of 72 million euros (IDR 1.2 trillion).

Even though they have reached an agreement since June, Pjanic and Arthur Melo will continue to defend their respective clubs until the 2019-2020 season ends.

Miralem Pjanic’s last appearance with Juventus was in the match against Lyon in the second leg of the Champions League last 16.

In that match, Pjanic started and played for 59 minutes.

Even though Juventus were able to win 2-1, they were still eliminated due to the aggressiveness of the away goals from Lyon.

Pjanic recorded four seasons playing for Juventus, from 2016 to 2020.

During his time at Juventus, Pjanic successfully won a number of prestigious titles including four scudetto Serie A and two Coppa Italia titles.
