BARCELONA – Barcelona announced on Monday, just 90 minutes apart, the transfer of Arthur Melo to Juventus and the subsequent signing of Miralem Pjanic, from the Italian club and for whom he will pay 60 million fixed euros plus some other variables 5 million.
The 30-year-old Bosnian midfielder, who will join the Barça discipline at the end of this course, signs a contract for the next four seasons and will have a termination clause of 400 million euros.

Curiously, during his time as a player for Roma in 2013, he declared himself a self-proclaimed follower of Real Madrid, assuring that he decided to be a footballer “for Zidane, the best player he had ever seen in my life”, and proclaiming that he would play one day in the merengue club “it would be a dream”. In fact, that dream was a probability that did not materialize in 2018, when Madrid asked Juventus about his signing, which the Bianconian entity rejected.
Since making his debut in the Metz first team, Pjanic has accumulated 515 official games, having scored 73 goals and showing unquestionable consistency as well as a privileged physique since he has only missed 18 games due to injury in these 13 seasons.
With Juventus, he was out of the coaches’ plans in 7 games during the four seasons, with an 18-day loss due to problems in the adductor, in the 2017-18 season as the biggest problem.
Long-range midfielder, endowed with excellent technical quality and great tactical intelligence, the Bosnian has delayed his position in the last two seasons with Juventus, although it would be understood that at Barça, Busquets being untouchable in the position of midfielder, he must readjust again inside, along with Rakitic, Vidal (if both remain in the Barça club) and De Jong and Riqui Puig as fixed companions in an area of capital importance in the team’s game.
