Banksy corona artwork in London metro

Banksy, whose identity is unknown, stepped into the metro in disguise as a cleaner, as can be seen on a video he posted on Instagram. He called the work he left behind ‘If You Don’t Mask, You Don’t Get’ and themed the corona virus.

Sneezing rats

The artist drew several rats, including sneezing and mouth masks as a parachute. The color Banksy chose was that of the face masks used by nurses. The video shows how he sent travelers away while he was working.

According to London’s management of the underground network, the artwork went against the ‘strict rules’ that apply against grafitti. Banksy’s work did not last long. According to de BBC it was removed a few days ago.

New version

In a statement, transport manager Transport for London (TfL) says that they appreciate the idea behind the artwork. The company also made an offer to the Bristol artist. “We want to give Banksy the opportunity to post a new version of its message for our customers in a suitable location.”
