Bankruptcy: Fischerhäusl in Linz-Urfahr closes in December

LINZ. In August, a new operator was sought for the “Fischerhäusl” inn in Linz-Urfahr, and the operator has now filed for bankruptcy at the Linz regional court. The restaurant will be closed in December.

The listed Fischerhäusl is owned by the city of Linz and is leased and sublet by the Brau-Union. Hakan Bayhan took over the operation of the restaurant at the beginning of June 2022 and has now filed for bankruptcy.

After the Christmas party on December 7th, the Fischerhäusl will be closed

As the creditor protection association KSV1870 reports, bankruptcy proceedings have already been opened; the main reason cited in the application is a decline in the number of guests due to the corona pandemic and high inflation. In addition, the facility was taken over from the previous tenant for a price of 80,000 euros. The liabilities amount to around 280,000 euros.

According to the insolvency application, all employees have already been deregistered, a Christmas party will be held on December 7th and the Fischerhäusl will be closed afterwards. According to Alexander Meinschad from KSV1870, who represents the creditors’ interests, an application for a restructuring plan is to be expected in the course of the proceedings; the first creditors’ meeting will take place on February 9, 2024 at the Linz Regional Court.

(Correction: an earlier version of the article incorrectly referred to “debtor representative” Alexander Meinschad, but he represents the interests of creditors.)
