“Banking Fees Increase in Egypt: Credit Agricole and Cairo Bank Fee Changes”

Banks operating in Egypt announced an increase in banking fees on banking services provided to customers during the current year, after increasing the cost of operating on accounts, loans and branches, according to bankers who spoke to Masrawy.

Credit Agricole Egypt and Cairo Banks announced an increase in banking fees during the current year, including administrative expenses, account opening, account statement and some other expenses, according to what they published on their websites.

In the following lines, Masrawy presents the most prominent fees set at Bank of Cairo and Credit Agricole, after increasing them.

Credit Agricole Bank

The bank announced changes in fees for a number of banking services during the current year, to become, after approving the new increase, as follows:

– Account opening fees: EGP 100 or its equivalent in foreign currencies on the account.

Issuance or renewal fees for debit cards: from EGP 150 to EGP 180, depending on the type of card, on the primary and secondary cards.

Fees for issuing a replacement for lost direct debit cards: 180 pounds for the primary and supplementary cards.

Fees for issuing prepaid cards: EGP 200 (valid for two years).

Credit card issuance fees: ranging from 250 pounds to 1200 pounds, depending on the type of card.

Cairo Bank

The bank announced changes in fees for a number of banking services during the current year, to become, after approving the new increase, as follows:

Administrative expenses on the account: 85 pounds will be deducted every 3 months instead of 50 pounds.

Credit card fees

– Classic (credit) card: It ranges from 250 pounds instead of 150 pounds, and the annual renewal is 250 pounds.

– Platinum Card (credit): 500 pounds instead of 400 pounds, and the annual renewal is 500 pounds.

– Titanium (credit) card: 300 pounds instead of 250 pounds, and the annual renewal is 300 pounds.

– World Elite Card (credit): 3 thousand pounds instead of 2500 pounds, and the annual renewal is 3 thousand pounds.

Fees for issuing prepaid cards: 20 pounds.
