The tension of the meeting became high when Nasir, who is also a member of the Democrat Party Faction, asked Orias about Inalum’s debt to take over 41.64 percent of PT Freeport Indonesia’s shares.

However, it turns out Inalum plans to add debt. “I ask the President Director (explain) the 41 percent purchase debt when it has been paid,” Nasir said.

Orias explained that the debt payment was divided into several tenure, namely 3, 5, 10 to 30 years. That answer made Nasir dissatisfied.

“So, it will be up to 30 years if the company runs smoothly and then it is finished. If we die, the goods will not be finished, change to another president director, another pattern,” Nasir said.

Because of this, Nasir admitted that he was rather upset hearing that there were plans for more debt. According to him, there are only two things from the risk of debt, if a smooth business means good returns.

“If this item is not smooth, the item is confiscated. It’s a matter of debt,” he said.

The former Treasurer of the Democratic Party (PD) M Nazaruddin said he was worried that the three subsidiaries that were incorporated under Inalum were only used as a debt support. “So, what data are I asking for?” said Nasir.
