Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana Named Suspect in Bribery Case by KPK

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named the Mayor of Bandung, West Java, Yana Mulyana and five other people as suspects in alleged bribery.

KPK deputy chairman Nurul Ghufron said Yana was previously caught in a sting operation (OTT) with 8 other people on Friday (14/4/2023).

After conducting an in-depth investigation and finding sufficient preliminary evidence, the KPK raised the status of the alleged bribery case to investigation and named 6 suspects.

They are suspected of having committed the crime of bribery in relation to the procurement of CCTV and internet network services for the Bandung Smart City program for the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year.

“(KPK) found and announced the following suspects, Yana Mulyana, Mayor of Bandung,” Ghufron said at a press conference at the Merah Putih building, Sunday (16/4/2023).

Apart from Yana, the Corruption Eradication Committee also appointed the newly installed Head of the Bandung City Transportation Service (Kadishub), Dadang Darmawan.

Then, the Secretary of the Bandung City Government Transportation Service with the initials KR, BN Director of PT SMA, SS as CEO of PT Civo, AG as Manager of PT SMA.

Ghufron said, from the OTT, the KPK secured IDR 924 million in rupiah denominations, Singapore dollars, Malaysian Ringgits, United States dollars and Thai Baht.

In this case, Yana, Dadan and KR are suspected of having violated Article 12 (a) or Article 12 (b) or Articles 11 and 12B of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes.

Meanwhile, SS, AG and BN are suspected of having violated Article 5 Paragraph (1) or Article 5 Paragraph (2) and Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 regarding Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes.
