Baiquni Wibowo’s father hopes his son will be accepted again as serving at the National Police

The panel of judges handed down a sentence of 1 year in prison to the former Head of the Riksa Section, the Ethics Bureau of the Watprof Bureau Baiquni Wibowo for vandalizing CCTV which hindered the investigation into the murder of Brigadier N Yosua Hutabarat. Father BaiquniBrigadier General (Purn) Sunarjono, hopes that his son will be accepted again as a member of the National Police.

“Furthermore, as a parent, I am a retired police officer. Hopefully, yes, you will open your mind. Police officials will accept my child back on duty,” said Sunarjono after a hearing at the South Jakarta District Court, Friday (24/2/2023).

Sunarjono said he accepted the judge’s decision against his son. Sunarjono hopes that the prosecutor will not file an appeal.

“We have theories accept-That’s the judge’s decision, and God willing, the prosecutor will also hopefully accept it too. Hopefully our hope,” said Sunarjono.

Baiquni Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison

Baiquni Wibowo was proven guilty. The judge found Baiquni guilty of vandalizing the CCTV which hindered the investigation into the murder of Brigadier N Yosua Hutabarat.

“On trial, declared Defendant Baiquni Wibowo proven legally and convincingly guilty of taking any action that resulted in disruption of the electronic system and/or resulted in the electronic system not working as it should,” said presiding judge Afrizal Hadi when reading out the verdict at the South Jakarta District Court, Friday ( 24/2).

“Send a sentence against Defendant Baiquni Wibowo with imprisonment for 1 year and a fine of Rp. 10 million, provided that if the fine is not paid by the defendant, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 3 months,” he added.

Baiquni was found guilty of violating Article 49 juncto Article 33 Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (UU ITE) juncto Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.
