Retirement and the relationship with football are some of the topics addressed by Roberto Baggio during the long interview granted to Sky today: “I missed playing. I miss the pitch, not the rest. At the beginning I wanted to disconnect completely and I wanted to understand what to do when I grow up and then yes, every now and then the desire comes back to you, you think about it and then luckily one thought remains. Being a coach or a manager? You have to be inclined to do certain things and perhaps I don’t consider myself worthy of doing them”.
Sacchi and his way of playing: “He had created this school and everyone followed him. So, for those who had my role, which wasn’t well defined, it was difficult. If I think of Zola who had to go to England to play… it’s funny, isn’t it? It was a difficult moment for those who had our role. I think the coach is very important but football is still done by the players, luckily. We need people who understand what their role is: one is the coach and the other the player”.
