Badminton: three gold medals and one silver for Mulhouse at the French championships

It’s a great harvest for the Red Star Mulhouse. The Haut-Rhin club collected no less than four medals during the finals of the French badminton championships organized from January 30 to February 2. On Sunday February 2 at the city’s sports hall, three gold medals and one silver were won. Tom Gicquel was titled in men’s doubles with Ronan Labar, after his victory in mixed doubles with Delphine Delrue.

Margot Lambert became champion of France in double ladies, associated with Vimala Hériau. “We were focused, we knew what we had to do and it paid off. It was a pleasure to play here at home” rejoiced Margot Lambert. Arnaud Merkle won him the money as a simple man. “Obviously I am disappointed but this defeat will help me to move forward. Playing at home was special, huge. I would have liked to give them the title but it is only a postponement”, reacted the young Mulhouseient after his defeat in the final against Christo Popov.
