Number of corona patients remains below the alarm level limit

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – The number of corona patients in intensive care units in the southwest has fallen slightly and thus remains below the limit of 390, which is relevant for the so-called alert level. The State Health Office reported on Saturday that 372 Covid 19 sufferers were being treated in intensive care in Baden-Württemberg. That was eight less than the day before.
If the alert level of 390 is reached or exceeded on two consecutive working days, stricter measures automatically come into force in the fight against the pandemic, such as 2G rules (recovered or vaccinated). At the moment, the so-called corona warning level applies in Baden-Württemberg, which already entails restrictions for many unvaccinated people.
The so-called hospitalization incidence on Saturday (as of 4:00 p.m.) was 4.81 after 5.0 the day before. It indicates the number of people who come to a clinic with corona symptoms per 100,000 inhabitants within a week. However, the current number of hospital admissions is usually higher than indicated in the hospitalization incidence. The complete values are often only available after one to two weeks.
The seven-day incidence of new corona infections was 370.3 and was thus increased compared to the previous day (352.6). The value indicates how many new infections with the coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants were reported to the authorities within a week. The number of confirmed corona cases since the beginning of the pandemic rose by 6145 to 703 599. In connection with the virus, 11 252 people died in the southwest – that’s 10 more than the day before.
