A new collection of essays, authorized by the administrator of the writer’s estate, The Tolkien Estate, will be published in Britain in June 2021 under the title The Nature of Middle-earth, the daily reported on Thursday. The Guardian. The title of the book refers to the natural laws and historical realities of the fictional world of Middle-earth.

HarperCollins promises readers that it will “take them back to the world of Silmarilion, Unfinished Stories and The Lord of the Rings.” The company has previously published several unpublished works by Tolkien, including the books Húrin’s Children, Beren and Lúthien and The Fall of Gondolin. Beren and Lúthien will be published in Czech translation in June next year, at about the same time as The Nature of Middle-earth collection. Húrin’s children and The Fall of Gondolin are already available in Czech translation.

Tolkien’s first book, set in Middle-earth – The Hobbit, or The Way There and Back, was first published in 1937. The famous Lord of the Rings trilogy was published in Britain during the 1950s. However, the author continued to write about Middle-earth until his death in 1973.

In the new collection, readers will learn more about the immortality of elves, the nature of the divine beings Valar, and new insights into the geography of the legendary Gondor await them. In addition, they will get an answer to the burning question of which people in the Mediterranean can grow a beard. Fans of the fictional world have been debating for years whether dwarf women, elves or hobbits abound in this ability.

Carl F. Hostetter, who is considered an expert on Tolkien and chairs the Elven Linguistics Association. He previously worked with Tolkien’s son Christopher, who was in charge of the writer’s estate until his death in January this year.

Tolkien’s stories of battles between good and evil and brave hobbits have also been made into film. First, a trilogy was made about a ring that “rules everyone.” The Fellowship of the Ring, the Two Towers and The Return of the King even won a total of a record 17 Oscars. The Hobbit was later filmed. Its author John Ronald Reuel Tolkien allegedly invented it as a bedtime story for his children.

Tolkien was born on January 3, 1892 in Bloemfontein, South Africa. He spent his childhood in Sarehol near Birmingham, where his parents came from. He also taught English and literature at Oxford University, among others. He died in September 1973, leaving behind a number of books and short stories that were not published until after his death.
