The estimated yield is around 100 typical tons per hectare and the polarization reaches 17.7 degrees
The Azucarera de la Bañeza (León) factory has reached the halfway point of its season with good results. Since March 15, the day the harvest began at the Leon headquarters, around 160,000 tons of liquid beet have been ground, with a polarization of 17.7 degrees and an average discount of 11%. Most of the plots have already been harvested, in the absence of 400 hectares pending start-up.
It should be remembered that the expected duration of the campaign is 45 days and that the intense rains in the province significantly delayed the start date for beet harvesting. Despite this, the crop has not been harmed and the company’s forecasts, which expected to achieve a yield of 100 typical tons per hectare and optimal polarization, with an average product richness of 17.5 degrees, are being fulfilled.
