Telegram channel “Autoflow” informsthat AvtoVAZ plans to launch the production of 1.5-liter 150-horsepower turbo engines in Togliatti at the facilities previously used for the production of HR16 engines. The company is also currently developing new engines.

Currently, AvtoVAZ produces eight-valve power units of 1.6 liters for 90 forces, as well as engines of the same volume, but with 16 valves – their return is 106 horsepower. Lada also has a 1.8-liter engine with 122 horsepower, but its production will resume only by the end of this year. It is this power unit that will work together with the Chinese variator and will be installed on Vesta.
Earlier it was reported that at AvtoVAZ work in progress to create a new model that will be presented in the minivan segment and will become an alternative to Lada Largus, with which the plant still has localization problems.
In addition, the brand is going to introduce Lada Iskra in 2024. The model is built on the Renault CMF-B platform and will receive an option unusual for Lada models, typical for models in the segment above. Iskra is currently passes set of road tests.
