Very important victory for AVS. The Avenses received Académico (from Viseu) and triumphed by 2-0. The leadership in the II League, belonging to Santa Clara, was once again three points away for Jorge Costa’s team.
The highly experienced Nenê scored for the 12th round in a row and reached 19 goals in the second tier.
The teams started in 4-2-3-1 and showed a lot of energy when it came to reacting to the loss. Until the first quarter of an hour, the viriatos showed a slight upward trend. André Clovis could have scored, if it weren’t for a huge interception by Edson Farias that took the bread out of his mouth to the advanced.

With this result, AVS reinforces second place and takes off from Nacional. Académico is in seventh place, just one point behind sixth place, Tondela.
