Average Income of 23,650 euros Declared by 42 Million Taxpayers: Regional Disparities Revealed – ANSA News

Around 42 million taxpayers who declare an average income of 23,650 euros, with the richest in Lombardy (27,890 euros) and the poorest in Calabria (17,160 euros): this is the picture taken from the data published by Mef an Irpef and VAT declarations submitted last year and related to the tax year 2022.

The data shows that the number of taxpayers increased by 1.3% compared to 2021, and the total declared income amounts to more than 970.2 billion euros (58 billion more than the year before, +6.3%) for an average value of 23,650 euros. The territorial analysis confirms that Lombardy (27,890 euros) is the region with the highest total average income, while Calabria has the lowest average income (17,160 euros). Income from employment and pensions represents about 83% of the total income reported; the highest average income from being self-employed is equal to 64,670 euros, the average income declared by employees is equal to 22,280 euros, income is -in pensioners employees 19,750 euros. The average values ​​of each type of income are growing: business income in standard accounting (+19.6%) and in simpler accounting (+12.5%); income from participation (+11.6%); income from self-employment (+6.9%); pension income (+4%) and employee income (+3.6%).
