Authorities deny death by Covid-19 of businessman José Kuri

Sources close to the family had informed the media that Kuri had tested positive for COVID-19 after returning to Mexico from a trip in Vail, a mountain town in Colorado, in the United States.

On the same trip to Colorado, Kuri coincided with the president of the board of directors of the Mexican Stock Exchange, Jaime Ruiz Sacristán, who also tested positive for COVID-19 but without presenting symptoms.

José Kuri was a member of the board of directors of Grupo Financiero Inbursa, company of the Mexican magnate Slim.

According to the last official report, from 19:00 on Sunday (01:00 GMT Monday), in Mexico there were 53 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 12 more than 41 on Saturday, and until then no deceased.

17% of those confirmed remained hospitalized while the rest recovered at home. Five of the former had been infected in Mexico, while the others were imported.
