Austrian investors for the “Airbnb for bicycles”

The German startup List’n’Ride has switched the principle from Airbnb to bike rental: private individuals and commercial providers can offer their bikes on the platform for rental and set the price themselves.

Three years after the foundation, the young company around the founders Johannes Stuhler and Gert-Jan van Wijk is now experiencing a growth spurt. List’n’Ride merges with the Dutch competitor BimBimBikes in the new GmbH “LR Mobility”, which also includes an Austrian investor at the start: the Next Floor from Salzburg, which is also part of the Tyrolean tourism startup rateboard or social business Helioz is invested.

22,000 rental bikes on List’n’Ride

List’nRide is currently online in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Austria and offers a total of 22,000 rental bikes. In the meantime, the platform has also established itself for test drives before buying new bikes, it says in a broadcast. BimBimBikes have been around since 2015 and focus exclusively on commercial providers. The Dutch platform is currently available in the Benelux, France, Spain and Italy.

The merger is intended to strengthen the brand presence in Europe. The company hopes to gain access to valuable networks in the bicycle and tourism industry from the new investors. Next-Floor from Salzburg is known for investments in the tourism sector and neo-investor BVA BikeMedia as a specialist publisher and operator of a cycling club has strong access to the bicycle industry.
