An unfortunate incident went viral on TikTok, where concierge agents were seen banging passengers’ suitcases. The airline that worked with the porter immediately investigated the incident.
Business Insider reported that Swissport baggage handlers are under investigation on Monday (12/5/2022) after a viral TikTok showed them slamming and tossing passengers’ bags. This viral post tagged Qantas Airways Limited and Melbourne Airport.
In addition, the airline spokesman said these people were employees of subcontractor Qantas Swissport Australia.
“The behavior in this video is clearly unacceptable and our contracted groundhandlers are conducting an urgent investigation,” a Qantas spokesman said.

In the video shared on TikTok, three officers can be seen banging and throwing passengers’ bags onto the conveyor belt while laughing. Of course, their actions have caused anger and disappointment among netizens who often experience damage to their luggage after their flight.
Since being shared, this post has been viewed more than 4.5 million times with nearly 25,000 comments. Obviously most of his comments were full of anger.
Swissport CEO Brad Moore also condemned the men’s actions and said they had stopped and were waiting for an investigation. They also receive serious disciplinary measures.
“The behavior in the video let us all down. Especially our frontline staff who have worked very hard during (COVID) to ensure quality standards under challenging circumstances,” Moore wrote to news.com.au.
“Disrespectful behavior towards Baggage and our customers’ belongings will not be tolerated and will result in serious disciplinary action.”
