“Aurubis Bulgaria” adds 100 million euros to its profit

Honey producer “Aurubis Bulgaria”, which was the country’s largest company for two years with a turnover of BGN 6.6 billion for 2021, has significantly increased its profits in the past year.

This can be seen from a report by the German group Aurubis for the financial year 2021-2022, cited by Capital. The Pirdop plant added more than €100 million to its profit, which now stands at €232 million.

For comparison, the company’s profit for October 2020 – September 2021 was €132.3 million (BGN 258 million). In Bulgaria in 2021, “Aurubis” generated BGN 292 million.

The unit for the production of metals from copper concentrates and articles, of which “Aurubis Bulgaria” is a part, also increases its revenues by more than 15% to 18.8 billion euros for the financial year 2021-2022. Sales in the segment are increasing, both due to the increase in metal prices (mainly copper) and the increase in production volume.

The company’s earnings before taxes (EBT), which is one of the main metrics monitored by shareholders, rose to €390 million, up from €185 million in 2021.

This is a result of increased production volumes, much higher revenues from the sale of sulfuric acid due to price growth, higher metal prices, as well as much stronger global demand for copperware in general.

Aurubis reports its best financial year to date

The turnover of the German company rose to 18.5 billion euros, compared to 16.3 billion euros in 2021. This is the result of the significant increase in the price of copper, as well as the huge demand for the products.

These factors, along with rising sulfuric acid prices, are the main reason for the company’s growth.
