Auger-Aliassime joins Federer and Nadal

Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime was elected to the ATP players’ council on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old is one of four new members who have been selected by the best tennis players on the planet to represent them.

The other newcomers are John Millman, Andy Murray and Jérémy Chardy. For their part, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal saw their mandate be renewed.

In 2020, the ATP player council was shaken by the departure of its president, world number 1 Novak Djokovic. The Serb resigned at the last US Open to found an independent players association.

Kevin Anderson will take over the role of chairman in the future, he who was formerly the vice chairman of the board.
