The new electric car from Audi is built on the basis of the Audi Sport quattro S1, and will only be made in one copy. It will be used by Ken Block and his team, where Block and the electric car will be stars in the film project «Elektrikhana».

Enthusiastic protagonist
Enthusiastic is also the main character Ken Block, who works closely with Audi Sport.
– The S1 Hoonitron draws gears on what Audi became famous for in the 80s, at the same time as it translates it into a modern design suit. I think it’s cool how the designers have been inspired by the past, and in a unique way drawn the technology and design into the present, says Ken Block.
The Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron has two electric motors, a carbon fiber chassis and a level of safety that meets the tough requirements of the FIA motorsport association. Block was first allowed to test the car in November.

Donuts on the asphalt at 150 km / h
– It was a lot of new for me to learn, which comes from different models with internal combustion engines. Making donuts on the asphalt at 150 km / h directly from the start was a new experience for me. I have to say a big thank you to the fantastic teamwork the Audi Sport team has put in, says Block.
The development of the car, including all the technology, is Audi Sport behind. The starting point was the plant in Neckarsulm, where the Audi RS e-tron GT is also produced. The design is by chief designer Marc Lichte and his team in Ingolstadt.
– We were immediately excited when we heard about the project, and how we could combine Audi icons from the past with the future visions of Audi. The task was to create a modern and fully electric interpretation of the legendary S1 Pikes Peak, says Marc Lichte.

Just one copy
The audience will soon see the result with their own eyes, through Ken Block’s next film project under the tab Gymkhana. With only one copy built by the car, it is not possible for Norwegian customers to buy Audi’s latest electric car model. Nevertheless, the project will affect Norwegian roads in the future.
– The progressive design and technology development through Audi Sport’s uncompromising commitment sets the course for future electric car models that will be available to you and me. It makes me even more enthusiastic about the future when I see what they have achieved with the Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron, says Elin Sinervo in Audi Norway.
