Kardashian treats himself to a Janet Jackson outfit

In Los Angeles, clothes and jewelry owned by Janet Jackson will be auctioned for three days. Kim Kardashian does not miss this opportunity and strikes. She got hold of a stage outfit for Michael Jackson’s sister from 1993.

The Californian auction house “Julien’s Auctions” auctioned costumes, dresses, objects, accessories and jewelry from US singer Janet Jackson over the weekend. And a very special fan of the singer also struck at the sale: Kim Kardashian. The 40-year-old bought the black and white outfit that Jackson wore in the video for her song “If” in 1993 and put an impressive 25,000 dollars (around 20,500 euros) on the table for it.

Kardashian congratulated Jackson on her 55th birthday in an Instagram story on Sunday. Then she posted a picture that shows an excerpt from the “If” video and can be seen on Jackson’s outfit. Kardashian wrote: “I’m such a big fan, I can’t believe I won this auction.” Jackson responded promptly, shared this Instagram story on her account and wrote: “Thank you, Kim! I hope ‘If’ gives you as much pleasure as it gives me.”

The auction lasted three days

Shortly before, a black, cropped military-style jacket from Jackson’s wardrobe had already been auctioned for a large sum. She wore the piece on her legendary “Rhythm Nation” tour in 1990, and it changed hands for $ 81,250. This means that the jacket was auctioned for about twenty times higher than expected. An earring with a pendant in the shape of a key sold for $ 43,750, the price of which was previously estimated to be significantly lower, namely between $ 4,000 and $ 6,000.

It is not yet known how much money was raised in the three-day auction. According to “Julien’s Auctions”, part of the proceeds will go to the non-profit organization Compassion International, which campaigns against child poverty and for humanitarian aid.
