Attention! New malware looks like security updates

Security updates are a very important part of all operating systems, including Android. Now, however, this somewhat banal installation can become a nightmare for a less experienced user. How is it possible?

FluBot malware now spreads via SMS

The new report states that FluBot malware has now started to spread to Android phones over the ordinary text messagesthat you inform about the delivery of the package or photo. After clicking on the link that is hidden in this SMS message you will be prompted to install a new security update to protect you through FluBot malware. What an irony, right? Hackers are trying their own malware hide under the security update that has you under FluBot, which you download to your phone just by installing this update to protect.

It will be clear to most people that updates do not work this way and do not want you to allow installation from unknown sources at all. If you received this SMS message and you clicked on the link, you are not in any danger, but the company Cert NZ recommends that you change your passwords in this case and contact your bank. If you somehow managed to install the malware, change your passwords immediately (first from your banking) and reset your phone to factory settings.
